Mummy Dearest – The Wedding, currently filming in Port Harcourt, Nigeria
Mummy Dearest 2 as it’s hash-tagged on social media, tells the story of a young man called Chijioke Chinda who was sent to his hometown, Port Harcourt, Nigeria to head his company’s project. Following his successes in business and life, he decides to engage his girlfriend, Boma Koko. And after that giant move, Boma begins to assume the position of a prospective wife, which does not sit well with Chijioke’s mum, Rose Chinda. Attention tussle ensues between the ladies and carries on to Chijioke and Boma’s big wedding.
Mummy Dearest 2 is a sequel to the 2015 sleeper, Mummy Dearest starring Liz Ameye Liz Benson as Rose Chinda, Daniel K. Daniel as Chijioke Chinda, and new comer, Uti Nwachukwu as Kozbi. Mary Lazarus is Boma Koko. Cameo appearances by BBN housemate, Marvis Nkpornwi, Melvin Oduah and Gulder Ultimate Search winner, Chris Okagbue.
Principal photography commenced last Tuesday, 29 August 2017 after two weeks of rehearsals and three months of pre-production.
“Being the latest installment in what would be a franchise, it has more of everything than its predecessor,” wrote Ikedum, the writer and director of the movie.
Mummy Dearest 2 cinema release date has been set for Mothers’ Day, March 9, 2018.
Mr. Willis Ikedum who also co-produced the title with his partner under their WHEELS PICTURES banner has five more movies in the works – three in postproduction and two in preproduction stages.
